Robert Scott

Consultant Solicitor (Civil)

Robert qualified as a Solicitor in 1991 having obtained an honours degree in law from Kingston Upon Thames and his professional qualifications at Guildford Law School. Robert’s training contract was completed at Anstey Sargent & Probert in Exeter, moving on qualifying to Every & Phillips in East Devon (now Everys Solicitors). He remained at that firm for 20 years, for the majority of that time as a Partner, later heading up the firm’s litigation department and running offices in Exmouth and Exeter.

In 2011, after a brief period as a Partner with London and international firm Trowers & Hamlin, Robert joined as a Partner at Kitsons in Exeter, where he remained until 2014. Robert joined Nunn Rickard as a Consultant and Civil Litigation specialist in 2014 where he continues to manage his own caseload and service a long established client base.

From the very early days of being a ‘jack of all trades’ Robert has specialised for over 20 years in Civil and Commercial Litigation, conducting and resolving a wide range of disputes for both private individuals and businesses. Robert conducts matters personally, bringing more than two decades of knowledge and experience to bear on client’s problems. This personal service extends to dealing with the majority of his own advocacy as well as conducting matters at mediation and arbitration.

Whilst he has for many years dealt with substantial volumes of personal injury, professional negligence, neighbour and property disputes, breach of contract and other compensation cases, Robert has also handled successfully many Inheritance disputes and Intellectual Property matters.

He accepts instructions in matters ranging from the small claims court to million pound disputes and has successfully recovered compensation for clients above and beyond their expectations.

Robert prides himself on providing honest and no-nonsense appraisal and advice throughout. He seeks to take the stress of litigation away from the client as much as possible, maintain regular communication and empathy with the client’s needs and understanding. He believes very firmly in charging no more than a fair and affordable price, providing estimates and seeking to agree fixed prices where possible.
